Ryan home from school

Ryan is home from his first day… It was “good, but also a little bad” according to Ryan. It was bad because there is no spitting in school. We asked him how he knows that and he said because they were having a “spitting fight”. GREAT :) He said the bus ride was “a little wild” because it drives and stops and he said “whoo hoo.” All in all, I think he had a pretty good day. Whew!

Ryan's first day of Kindergarten!

It’s Ryan’s first day of school…going to Kindergarten!  He woke up excited to go, picked out his own clothes, and was on his way right after lunch.  We met some friends that are also in Mrs. Blevins’ class at the bus stop.  Mom, Dad and Scotty drove to the school to watch Ryan get off the bus and meet up with his class.  A fun surprise, Connor from pre-school is in Ryan’s class.  They stood in line together and looked happy to see each other.  We had a good start to what will hopefully be a great first year of school.

Labor Day Weekend in Salem, Oregon

Well, we went to Salem to see some family and take in the Oregon State Fair.  We had a blast!!!  The kids loved the fair with the animals and all the fun stuff to look at.  The best part of the fair was “Kachunga and the Alligator Show”.  Both kids were riveted to that show, it was quite entertaining for the adults too…  (  Carol and David invited everyone for a barbeque on Sunday, so we spent the day there.  Boy was that exciting!  They have a trampoline and Ryan, Scott and Ian went nuts!  All in all we had a great time and got to catch up with the folks living in Salem.  Barb and I went to breakfast at the Busick Court Restaurant (featured on “$40 a Day”), so that was fun to go to a place we say on TV.  Breakfast was VERY tasty by all accounts!
